Oil changes at Jiffy lube and others
My dealer is actually miles away from me - anything wrong with having my oil changed (first and other times) at the local Jiffylube?
What type of Oil should I be insisting on?

IMHO, the quicky lubes places are just ****. They often screw things up.....let's see
1. Forgot to put in new oil after draining the old.
2. Forgot to replace oil cap.
3. Forgot to re-install oil drain plug.
4. Put it wrong oil.
5. Put in too much or too little oil.
I guess you can goto these places if you must, however my advice is to watch them like a hawk while they are working on the car and keep your reciept for WHEN you have a problem with them (not if).
If you can, learn how to change your own oil and revel in your handy work for a job well done.

Personally I have the money to spend on an oil change so why not let someone else do it. I used to change the oil on my jeep and got to the point where I had a 12 quart container full of oil. I kept telling myself that I would have my oil changed at jiffy lube and just have them dump my oil out for me. Problem was I kept making it to Jiffy lube without the container. Now with the Z my issues are how would I get under it with out damaging the front end (by going up on ramps, etc) and killing my self under my little darling. Doesn't seem like much room to work should she decide she prefers being on the ground better.
My problem with Jiffy lube is they always want to upsale you when you go in. I want an oil change and they want to give me the $120 tune up.
I say why not spend 20 bucks and have the dealership worry about all that other crap but as mentioned hold on to the receipts.
I actually love going to the dealership, they are really nice, I have lots of people come up to check out the car and I usually spend a lot of time answering questions. It's like my own little meet.
As for a dealership being more responsable, two weeks ago my dad had his oil changed at the dealership he bought his truck at. On the way home the engine seized. They got the oil out but somewhow forgot to fill it back up.
