Default Two problems: CD changer skips & gas cap cover hard to open

Does anyone have these problems?

1. My CD changer (touring model) skips to another song randomly. It will play fine for a while, but then (like the other day) three songs in a row it plays the first 10-20 seconds and then skips. This is not caused by hitting bumps in the road. I think it only happens when I have it in multi-disc shuffle mode.

2. I have a hard time opening my gas cap cover. I have to press the release button several times before it opens. What I do now is press it about 5 or 6 times real fast. Sometimes it still won't have opened when I get out to start the pump. Once it opens, it's barely open enough for me to grab the edge with my fingers and open it fully. Also, it's sort of hard to close, like the hinge has too much resistance.

I'm gonna get the dealer to look at these things soon. Just wondering, does anyone else have these problems?

Haha... the CD skipping is caused by the scan setting.... you are playing your CD in Scan mode.... it plays 10secs and goes to the next song! Fix: Hit the scan button!

I think someone else posted that if you make sure the teather is behind the 2 tabs on the gas lid, you shouldn't have problems with it opening.

Good idea about the Scan, but it is *not* on. In the span of 20 minutes the player will play several random songs fully, then it might skip after half of a song, then a full song or two, and then 10 secs of another. It's totally random. Also, it's not just happening on certain discs, AFAIK. I thought maybe the discs were scratched or something, but I think they're OK (never have problems on my home CD changer).

well if it's not that, then I'm not sure.... the owners manual does say something about burnt CD's and some have complained about 80 minute Cds not working too well.

As a side note, if you have problems with scratched Cds... I recommend the Game Doctor... it fixed a lot of my old CDs.

I had the gas door problem. The dealership replaced the mechanism.

Joyia,

Do you know exactly what they replaced? Was it the door, the release mechanism, both, or something else?

Thanks!
