I have an old Saturn SL2 that I use as my junker car. Under the dash there is 2-3 wads of something with wires running into them and are all electrical taped up. It is not factory I can tell that much, and it looks like boxes under the electrical tape.

I was thinking it is one of those advanced timing kits or "chips" that are complete BS. How the heck do I go about getting it off? The car IDOL's way to high (1300rpms) and revs up to 2k when you first put it in neutral or park. It is really quite annoying and I want to take this gettoness off b/c I am letting my girl use the car.
