Default How to remove rear view mirror?/NATS problem

Hi guys

can anyone help me with removing the rear view mirror

it is the stock non dimming mirror like on the US base model

there seems to be a small opening at the base to slide perhaps a flat head screw driver in there, but i dont like the chances of scratching the glass or scratching off the black film on the windscreen

Another issue, stemming from my last 'car wont start' thread, seems my NATS has **** itself. The LED security light on top of the dash is now constantly on and the car is doing weird things like locking itself and flashing my hazards when the key is out of the ignition. I think water has been seaping in through the grommet the audio guys ran my 1/0 gauge audio cable through. Looking at the grommet, the hole has some cracks/cuts around the cable, and the NATS module itself was wet when i removed the drivers kick panel

The rear view mirror has a set screw (allen head I think), once that is out it slides up over the mount attached to the glass. There is no prying involved.
