One of you experienced Z drivers help..
I've seen footage of a Z doing a burnout /w the front wheels locked. Someone help a rookie out and explain this task. i'm a fwd convert to a rwd vehicle, and I don't have a clue!
1: Automatics are easy - Hold left foot *lightly* on break so that the front breaks lock up but not the rear. Then apply throttle.
2: Manual Transmission #1 - take off and then apply breaks and keep foot on the gas, should come to a stop and the tires will start spinning given enough throttle. Very tricky
3: Manual Transmission #2 - Heel/Toe the break/throttle while letting out on the clutch. Very tricky as well to find the right balance. Just takes practice

You can only do this in the Z if you remove the fuse for the brake lights. The Z has a drive by wire throttle and the ECU will only give you 20% throttle if it detects the brakes are being applied.
This may be true on other Z's, but not on mine. When running at the dragstrip, I powerbrake to clean the tires at 3000+rpm or so. The first time I did it, it really got away from me quickly went over 5,000+ rpm and would have redlined had I not feathered it right away. All this was while not moving and in the staging area. I have read the other post(s) about the 20% only being available, but that is not the case on my 5AT Touring. It appears I have 100% power available when preloading. Regards, Jim

The 20% figure was published by Sports Compact Car (I think), maybe it only applies to MT6? I haven't tried to brake torque my Z, it is plenty capable of spinning the tires without such techniques. I'm not interested in sitting still, I want to accelerate!
