Default Gasoline in a diesel engine??? Help please...

I was helping my gf move to a new place and her brother rented a Uhaul truck. Here's the thing, he's not really a car guy and he didn't know there was a difference between diesel and gasoline. The truck clearly says "DIESEL ONLY" but guess what happened...he filled it up all the way with Gasoline! All I could think of was WOW, but I didn't say anything. So here's my question, what does it take to repair this kind of thing? What's the cost on that? And if my gf has insurance, does it cover that kind of damage???

Did he try to start it ? If not ---Drain completely and fill up with Diesel--If he did try and it quit running, Drain completely and fill with diesel, Take off the fillter and just empy it then fill it with diesel, reinstall .Then break loose the injector lines at the injectors just a couple turns, Turn over the Engine a few times til u get diesel out of them ---Tighten them up and off u go

Yea, Uhaul came and towed it away...I think this move cost them quite a bit of money, now the question is, how much do you think they'll charge for this repair? Would a $500/$1000 deductible cover it?

Better check with your insurance, I doubt they will cover it! You say it cost them $, looks like it will cost you $!

Looks like Uhaul is maxing your CC out!

Mind that it's not a regular car, but a medium sized Uhaul truck...I don't know if it matters, but no way it should cost "a couple of thousand" right???

Drain the tank, fill with fresh diesel. That's all there is to it, unless the truck was completely empty, in which case you need to bleed the entire system anyways.

Dispute any claim over 50 USD.

Yeah WTF they don't need to fix anything except get that gas out of there. Diesel engines are beasts and they're not going to "break" from puttin regular gas in there.
