Default OK weird brake issue...

so everyone knows the story, blah blah blah, i sold the brembos off the G35 coupe and traded and put stock brakes on, i did the swap with the brembos, no issues, my friend drove away happy...

so the stock brakes on the G sat on the car without moving for over a month with no wheels on them. finally i get time to get it all back running and we bleed the brakes.

pedal ends up feeling hard as hell but still fades down, we went through 2 big bottles of brake fluid to get them hard with no air in the lines...

well, here is the problem, the calipers never shut when you push on the pedal, it feels just like the brakes are supposed to but it just doesnt stop at all, All 4 calipers will not close. its a pretty weird problem. i am wondering if it could be some brake booster issue or something else.

i swear it feels like the calipers are just frozen stuck, but what are the odds of ALL 4 freezing up like that...

any guesses or info would be greatly appreciated for sure, going to mess with it again this weekend and will be taking the calipers back off and cleaning them up really good...

thanks

If ur Booster is bad u have a hard pedal but u can stop. The booster is controled by vacuum. If ur diapham has a hole in it it will leak vacuum. Test it with a hand pump vacuum tester for leak down.
If ur Master is bad it may be because of two things 1. Its bypassing, which means its just pushing compressed fluid back into the resivour. 2. Its leaking, which is noticed if u remove the nuts and pull it away from the booster and find fluid on the outside of the seal. If its been leaking for awhile it will wipe out the diapham in the booster. Chk the Master first.
How many miles? Did u bottom out the pistons when u put the pads in? Have to chk myself ----Is there a bleed screw on the ABS Control unit, Sometimes there is

If u press hard on the petal and it very slowly goes to the floor that is also an indication of MC prob

thanks man, i am pretty handy with cars and know how to fix most stuff. this is just a weird a$$ problem. with the car running, if you press the brake, it feels hard (normal) but then it fades down, but.. the calipers dont tighten at all. i will check the car tomorrow for any kind of MC leaks but i dont think thats the problem. i swear it feels like every caliper is frozen up...

the only reason why i brought up the brake booster is because i swapped the turbo engine into my Z and put stock back in the G, i took out the greddy check valve hose off the G for the brakes and put in the stock Z one in the G...

still confused..

K --Cool ---Mite want to chk the valve and make sure its holding although it really dont matter one way or the other. But as I said --If u press the petal and its hard but slowly creeps to the floor u have a bypass in your Master, An internal leak so u cant see it ---If u got 40-50,000 or maybe just a little less. Change it. If it dont solve the prob, so what, u know now for sure thats not it and it will save u the time changing it in the near future. Good Luck
