Default Engine Revs on its Own, Throttle Plate?

To skip past the history and go directly to the current situation, please go to item number 4.

Car: 2003 Enthusiast 350Z
Turbonetics Single Turbo w/ UTEC

1. So my AC was leaking and we discovered the source to be the AC Coupler O-ring. No big deal, right? We replaced the o-ring and that fixed the leak. After my car was put back together (piping from the kinetix intake manifold all the way to the turbo, as well as the turbo and the pipe to the intake filter after the turbo) my car started strangely and had a high idle. When the car started it revved up like normal, then sustained the rev for a second, then revved a little more and sustained that before falling to 1250 RPM on idle.

2. I was asked to give it a little rev so I did to 2500. Still idling high. I was then asked to rev it higher and so I did, to 4000. At this point, something took over and the car started revving on itself past 4000, so I shut off the car. After that, everytime we started the car, it would rev high on its own past 4000 at which point I shut off the car)

3. We disconnected the piping to discover that there was a piece of plastic keeping the throttle plate open (I DON'T KNOW HOW?!? thank god my engine isn't blown up yet!). We removed that and performed the procedures as shown on Technosquare's website: http://www.technosquareinc.com/350reset.htm

ECU Resetting Procedures
Accelerator Pedal Release Position Learning
Throttle Valve Closed Position Learning
Idle Air Volume Learning (Throttle Position Learning)

4. My idle went down to 1000 but now it's like my accelerator is stuck: When I'm in gear and clutch into neutral to shift into a higher gear, my revs jump up a little bit. And when I release the gas pedal while in gear it takes a second for the engine braking to actually kick in, i.e. the car sustains its speed. Right now I'm having them reinspect everything and I've been told there is no more debris anywhere and I'm told:

"we're cleaning the throttle body to see if that works but it seems to have some "slack" at the lower part where it should be closing"

The throttle plate should not have this slack right?
Me: when u mentioned "slack" do u mean u can push it close and it sticks? or that it kinda dangles around
Them: it dangles around
Them: it never stays closed if you push it closed
Them: if you push it open tho
Them: then there is tension
Them: but there's maybe a 1/20" where it's "loose" at the very bottom (closed) position of its travel

The reset and learn position should also have taken care of this improper alignment? I'm wondering if that piece of plastic from before screwed the motor up.

Please advise.

Thanks anyway Mike. It seems as though there should be that 3/8" "gap" when it's closed. When they press the throttle plate, it does spring back closed with the whirring sound of the servo just as Jim from Pro Flow Design says it should. I may go down to Harrisonburg tomorrow to investigate these things myself. It seems like I haven't had my d@mn car for more than a few days without problems since it's been turbo'd. I'm in FI HELL. (That's why I haven't posted anything up btw...didn't wanna show the car until everything was worked out...which looks like never)

i doubt it, but they said they're going to try and place the throttle body before the maf or something? to check its operation?
