footrest in the way of clutch?
should i remove the footrest. A few time i went to clutch in to shift and wasn't able. I realized that my foot was touching the foot rest while on the clutch so I couldn't press it all the way down. Lucky it happens when i'm at a complete stop.

Maybe not the feet, just the shoes...
Yeah, NEVER has happened here in a couple of months and 3K miles...
Anyway, just yesterday took it off (to do the BOSE 0.20 fix) and it comes off an on very easy. Actually, I was surprised how loose it was.
Take it off and try it...

Here's the quiz
1) Are your feet big?
2) Are you wearing boots?
3) Has the foot rest moved?
The foot rest is held on with very short screws--basically fastens to the carpet.
4) Do you practice placing your foot at the same spot on the clutch pedal each time? i.e. foot not too far to the right so that there isn't enough room.
I have been trying to put my right foot on the brake pedal at the same spot each time so that I can improve my ability to heel-toe. I think a sports car is like improving in any other sport; we have to practice all the time.

Hmm, i guess my grammar was off, how bout footrest in the way of clutching?
Don't think my foot's big, size 10. Don't think its that wide either. When I clutch in I think the tip of my foot or the left side catches the footrest, sometimes. Now I'm not sure, cause I don't really look down at my foot. Plus its sneakers and have to check again to see if the foot rest moved.
I just might remove it, I've never even used the footrest in any car, manual or auto. Just not sure if it'll look weird.

Be aware...
If you remove it, you will have the two mounting screws (long) pointing upwards and unprotected. I am not sure if you can or how hard it is to remove them. You might have to put some rubber cover on them (a very thin condom? )
No, seriusly, I was thinking more of one of those rubber plugs you can use for vacum lines.

Big Foot
I experienced this once last week. I bought new dress/work shoes which aren't broken in. They're still stiff and it feels as if I have boards strapped to my feet. Wearing these new shoes I've hit the block, but never any other time. BTW, I wear a size 12.

This username was a goof. I tried to setup two other logins originally with hotmail addresses, and they wouldn't setup. I couldn't get a response out of whoever runs this site and setup YourMomma as a good. Surprisingly enough it worked, so here I am.
So to clear it up, I'm a guy.

a guy with big feet
This thread is about big feet in a small space and hitting the clutch pedal and the foot rest in the same motion. I have tried to pay attention to this when I'm driving. My size 11s have difficulty hitting both pedals unless I inadvertantly have my foot only half way on the clutch.
Am I understanding what we're talking about?
