Broken Side View Mirrow/Minor Accident
I tried a search and couldn't find what I needed so I'm asking for some help.
Yesterday I was going down a narrow road barely wide enough for two cars, and cars are allowed to park on the side of the road. Going down the road about 100 yards behind another car I start passing parked cars on my side of the road. The car in front of me makes it through while an 02 Jag XJ8 waits for him, but not me. So we're both stubborn and don't yield to each other and try to both fit through a spot right next to a parked beat up honda accord. It looks bad and then BAM!!! we hit side mirrors together spidering the glass on my driver side mirrow, but thats it.
So I turn around and his car is the same, the mirror is just pushed back and the glass is popped out not even broken. He calls the cops not even trying to talk to me and settle this briefly. So the cop deams it my liability as the accord was on my side thus it was his right away, even though he had just yielded to a car in front of me he was just pushing the issue seeing my Z come down in my opinion.
Story aside all I need is a new mirror, the bracket, seal and everything else with it is fine just the mirror is slightly broken. Can I replace just the glass mirror piece?
This is the first time in 10 years of driving I have ever been deemed liable for an accident and I have no idea what to do. Should I call him and ask where he wants to get it fixed? or my insurance company? Thanks for the help in advance.

Anybody??? Can I replace just the glass part of the sideview mirror? Any recomendations on how to deal with the other guy involved in the accident?
First and foremost I'm not trying to mess up my minimal $75 a month insurance if possible.

That's exactly what happened to one of my side mirror...Nissan dealer has all the parts and
tech to put them on. But when I went to dealer to replace the part and fix and they quoted
me $400..
So now I have JGTC style Carbon Fiber mirror on my Z
which replaces mirror, bracket, base..everything. It cost me total $220 for both. It was never planned but hey, I get lots of compliment. It looks good! PM me if you want direct link for this CF mirror.
