Question Axle clicking fixed twice, but what else is clicking?

I had it in the shop 2 weeks ago to fix the start/stop, braking, climbing up driveway, bumps, etc. symptoms of axle clicking. It was repaired 2 years ago, but under a different procedure (wheel bearings).

So the clicking when starting and braking has stopped, but I hear it when I go over small bumps at very low speeds or climbing up the driveway.

It's like a loose bolt that rattles underneath the car.

Do you have any aftermarket sway bars/exhaust installed? Those could have a loose bolt or need some greasing.

Is it a pop or a click?

I have a '04 with 35k miles all stock with the exact same problem.
I had the bearings replaced, rear shock replaced, rear sways regreased and torqued, axel regreased, drive shaft torqued and regreased, shock tower mounting bolts sanded, and rear bearings replaced. I still have that noise!!

Can anyone help?

Did you watch the dealer do the work?

Was the noise gone for a while but came back?

if its just the clicking (I call it "crickets"), all I did was smoke the big hub nut down on both rear hubs with an impact wrench. Problem solved. I did this around 55,000 miles ago and have not heard it since or seen any problems from the hubs, axles, or anything else. They just need to be really really tight.

We have done it on several other cars with same result.

I had the click but also a creaking noise which refuses to go away Anyone with a similar problem that can tell me what this is, I have tried just about everything. They performed the TSB a couple of weeks ago and the click disappeared but this creak refuses to go, I had my local mechanic grease up everything back there and nothing. It usually starts getting louder when I have a quarter tank of gas or when the car is being raised up. Its embarrassing every time I go over a bump or turn you can hear it, kinda sounds like when a door hinge creaks. There is one thing that I did notice when changing out my shocks was that the gasket or what appeared to be one was paper thin, might this be causing the problem?

All of the work was done by the dealer.
I didn't watch them do it. Yeah the noise did go away but came back after one week.

I don't have a Z (I will tomorrow though!!!) but I've experienced this exact same problem. It was on the RSX-S that I'm trading in (my fiance's RSX did the same thing too). We traced the sound to a chassis brace that was just an unpainted aluminum plate that attached from the floor behind the back seat to the side of the car. It's purpose was to help control flex but for some reason one of the bolts was not torqued to spec and allowed for some flex that could be heard directly under the brace. You may have something similar.

Wow sorry for the late reply guys! I sort of lost track of this thread after posting. I could've sworn the forum layout changed on me, and went back to normal. My suspension is totally stock.

I got my tires on Monday, and then dropped off the car Tuesday to get the sideskirt repaired. I was told the problem could not be reproduced.

The easiest scenario is when I'm pulling in my driveway and I'm in 1st or 2nd till I get in the garage. It sounds like a screw tossing around in a can or chain-like tink sound below in the rear, and it is not the creak-like clicking noise like the TSB. That one is fixed since I don't hear it anymore when I'm starting/braking.

I haven't heard it since I got my new tires, but I'll pay attention when the weather gets warmer.

Anyhow, I hope it's not a safety issue. I just need to hang on for at least another year.
