Default Burning

I have a burning smell coming from the rear of my car. It started a couple of days ago, every time I drive it for >5 minutes and roll downmy windows I can smell it. When I get out of the car, I know its coming from the back. Any idea what it could be? (it's not rubber)

How many miles? Did you put on a new exhaust? New car? It's normal for the car to let off a burning smell when replacing the exhaust or when the car is new. That's normal. Any changes at all to your car recently? Lots of things on the rear can smell burnt. Maybe you have a plastic bag under there, or a brake is dragging? Driving with e-brake on? Diff?

yeah, right after I made this post, I went to look under my car and found a plastic bag melted onto the exhaust. Damn, the funny thing is that I remember running over it on the freeway and not seeing it behind me as I kept driving.

Well good to know its nothing serious, thanks guys.
