Default any one had any transmission problem?

i have a little more than 1 yr old 05 base Z.
i took it to the dealer for fuel gage problem.
fuel gage showing it is empty, even i have fuel.
and i asked them to check my transmission.
beacuse some time i hear rattling noise when i shift up from 1st to 2nd gear.
and i hear dropping noise when i step on clutch in order to shift up from 1st to 2nd gear.

they checked and they told me they r gonna replace the transmission.

any one has this problem?

is this lemon?
firtst time when i heard that noise was 5 month after i got my Z.

If you search, you will see lots of posts about transmission replacement. This is normal. I had mine done last year.

u don;t have any more transmission problem after u have urs done?
i heard someone had done 2 times.
since many people had their transmission replaced, it should be a recall issue.
i am just worry about having more transmission problem after my warranty is over.

I havn't but I've read some people have. YOu have 5 years on the tranny so I wouldn't worry about it. Most people have a grind issue. For me it was transmission whine in cold weather.

I've had it too. Don't worry. Make sure the part number of the new transmission ends in 009. I have that one, and most new ones are that one. Its fantastic and makes driving the Z much more enjoyable.

Yeah. Im not sure of your problem, but mine was VERY notchy in the 1-2 and 2-3 shift. And then, after 8 months of ownership, 5th gear grinding began. I waited until it became severe and then went to the dealership. It took 6 hours to swap out. THey gave me a new clutch and flywheel also.

Im thinking they fixed the problem, because i dont wrestle the transmission anymore. Even with my shorter shiftknob, its smooth and it feels like it pops into gear rather than me forcing it. The clutch is also FAR improved. It doesn't 'sink' into the floor if i launch hard. Its more firm and it pushes back hard so it feels better.

Just tell them the clutch also slips and sinks when its warm in traffic or when you take off.

If your car is lowered on coilovers, will they still check your tranny?? i keep reading about transmission problems and lately my clutch sticks

and yes i did a search on stick clutches...but my question was not answered, "If you are lowered on coilovers, does this somehow void the transmission problem??"
