Default Royal Purple installed in the tranny and differential today.

Stuff is absolutely amazing. Feels like a totally different transmissions. Smoother shifts, less notchiness and its hard to explain but it just grabs each gear better now. I can slap into gear now its so smooth. Only regret is that I didnt do this much much sooner. I would highly recommend this product to everyone.

How did your old fluid look when you drained it out?

I want to change out my fluid SOOOO bad, but it's 30 to 40 degrees up here in Boston, and my apartment parking lot isn't level enough to safely put the car up on jack stands...i hate paying someone to do a job i can easily do myself!

Iv kept up on all the threads that discussed Lubes and heard so many Pros and Cons. Had read about the possible synchro probs with RP and little difference with Redline etc etc . Had to take so much with a grain of salt. But Im overdue and the RP is available so I quess I'll give it a shot. When it comes to Lubes so much is biased and one mans opinion versus another mans.

AH --- Nexx, You arent a rep with RP are u ??? Hmmm?

rofl nope. i just did a lot of reading before going with RP in my tranny. if i read something was better, then i would have gone with it. i have no love or loyalty to any company. i just buy what i think is best at the time that i can afford.

Well I like the redline fluids... I mean while the car's totally cold, it feels like normal OEM fluids, but once the car warms up, there's no comparison... much smoother shifting and I also feel like I can crunch/slam the gears with no ill effects

Man I need to do this asap, Im tired of waiting and not having time. I took the car to get an oil consumption test started, and also asked about the whine coming from the diff....they said its normal(thats 2 dealers now that say its normal). Im thinking maybe if I change the fluid it might go away. Would it be safe to add in a friction modifier to the diff along with the royal purple to quiet it down a bit??? So is it 2qts diff and 4qts tranny??? Thanks guys.

My dealership used RP on the transmission since it is prone to problem (even the new one). It feels great, it feels like it slides into a notch instead of me fighting to push it through.

I have Royal Purple MaxGear in my diff for the past 18,000 miles. It works great. No additional friction modifier needed. (RP already added it to MaxGear)
