Default Engine rev max out at 2k rpm

I'm having some issue with my Z lately, especially after installing the metrodyne spacers. I've triple check everything and can't find the cause.

Question: Once in a while my engine will act like if it's reach the rev limit when it hits 2,000 rpm. What can cause that?

I've also noticed that my car heats up pretty quickly (after 1 min from start up when it's 30 degrees out). I've never noticed it before and I don't know if this is normal or it could be associated with the above problems.

Any ideas, suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance guys/gals.

do you have an aftermarket intake? maybe its loose up top or down low.

did you tighten the spacer with torque wrench?
