Default Dead ECU

Alright folks, I need some serious help. Here's the issue:

Recently the Mid-Atlantic got drenched by a Nor-easter and due to it my brand new 2006 350Z w/ 2700 miles got flooded. After the waters receeded (when I found out it had taken a bath), I jumped the battery and was able to get it started. The issue is that almost everything else that is electronic is messed up. As soon as the battery has some kind of charge, the blinkers, headlights, wipers, and I don't know what else come on. Now, based on the waterline on the car, the water level was at almost 2ft but how much actually got inside, I have no idea but I know it screwed some stuff up. Here's the situation, if the insurance company decides to sell me the car at a discount, how much would it cost to replace the brains and potentially some of the wiring? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

More than you can afford.

+1 and keep the vin number, just in case someone sees a car matching your description for sale....you may be able to steer them away from it (pun intended)

Get out of that car NOW. Get the check and get a new one. If it was under 2ft of water that means 90% of the wiring was contaminated by god only know what was in that water. Your engine control module, transmission control module, the body control module(controls all electrical accessories), the a/c amp(controls interior heating and cooling), power window motors, more thing than I want to name here were contaminated by water. No matter how hard you try to dry it out and no matter how much you replace on this car it will cause nothing but migranes for you. Tell the insurance company to
make it a big check and go get a new one.

Thanks for all your input. You all have good points. This is one of those things that puts a damper on your day. In this case, mine. It's wierd that the mirrors, the stereo, the HVAC, the dash and whatever else work. The windows, the wipers (Front & Rear) and some of the lighting were not so lucky. I'll keep you posted.

So it turns out that I decided to keep the car. Basically ended up buying it from the insurance company for a 1/3 of the price, went on Ebay, bought a copy of the repair manual and got the car fixed. Turned out that the Alternator and the BCM were fried. I striped the interior, put a dehumidifier inside and let it run for about a week until it was bone dry. Took the seats apart and did the same. Also flushed all of the fluids just to make sure.
Who knew!?
