Hi, just got my Touring 6MT SB Z. I love the car. I have about 1300 miles on it and I notcied that the car was idling a litte weird. The rpm's seem to fluctuate between 850 and 1k. Is this normal? I don't recall it idling like this before. I was just sitting at a light and I noticed the car shaking a little when it went up and down. I was also testing it in my driveway, and after maybe like 3-5 mins it started making a ticking sound.. almost like a rattle.. I turned off the car and then back on and it went away and haven't heard it since. I haven't let it idle that long though either. Any input on these would be appreciated.

It actually idles at like maybe 800 and then drops up and down a little bit. I am taking it to the dealer tomorrow to get it inspected and I told them to check it out. We will see.

I had a similar problem. I told the dealer my car sounded like it would misfire during idle. They connected consult and found out that there was a 2nd cylinder misfire and replaced the injector. It continued to misfire during idle but now consult is telling me that there is a multiple cylinder misfire and the dealer has no idea what to do. Please let us know what your dealer find out.

Funny thing . . . I have a new Z, my husband has a 94 TT. He said that the idle on the older models also have this problem. Mine has 1300 miles and I just noticed it. PLEASE let me know what you find out!

I have the same problem too... But I don't think that it's a problem. You know when you replace your stock cams for race cams and the idle gets really crazy? Well I think that the stock cams in the Z are in between stock and race cams. And that would make it ruff idle.
