Default Clunk in rear

I have a clunk in the rear cargo area when i turn sharply, or make a sudden move. Its not when going over bumps. Any suggestions. Also the velcro that secures my jack has come entirely out and i can't get it back in. How do i remove the piece of styrofoam that holds it in, so i can put the velcro back in. Thanks.

What the clunk or the sytrofoam are you talking about.

If clunk did you check your spare tyre? I was helping to find a mates clunk in the back of his 350 and part of noise his was making is the spare tyre wasn't secured properly and moving around a bit.

i don't have a spare or tools in my trunk. i'm guessing it's my suspension.

trying taking everything out of your compartments, including your spare tire, jack, etc, and see if its still there.

You should be able to remove the styrofoam by taking out those clips with the screwdriver provided in that styrofoam. I just took everything outta my trunk.

Im curious as well. I have the same issue. I have checked to make sure my spare and all tools are secure. I also notice the sound more so when I have the wondows down and am driving slowly in a parking lot...especially one with some bumps. Sounds like it is coming from the rear suspension.

I have exact problem as you described, and it gets worse.
I brought it to dealer today, and reproduce it with a technician in my car, just a few turns in the parking lot,
he agreed that there is knocking sound from the rear.

One hour ago, they called me saying that I need to leave
my car overnight for them to put equipment on to find out
the root cause.
"knocking sound is tricky" they said.

I hope that they will fix it for good, my warranty is approaching to end.

The dealer said that they couldn't find the root cause of the clicking sound even after extensive tests, and now the sound
somehow is gone, so there is no way for them to fix it without
hearing the sound.

Has anyone with the problem got a fix from some where?

The dealer said that they applied the rear axel noise TSB fix and the sound is still there.
They said it is a drive line noise which has no known fix.
Not sure has anyone heard of such issue, and a possible fix.

1) Threading the velcro tie-down strap back through is a pain, but I eventually got it done. I'll never pull mine all the way out again.
2)Jack the car up and check EVERYTHING for "play". You'd be surprised how many people are driving around with loose lugnuts, disconnected endlinks, etc. Look at the drive-axel connecting flanges, wiggle the tires side to side and up and down. If there's nothing loose IN the car, there's probably something loose ON the car. Check the spring perches to make sure the springs are seated properly. Look for signs of oil leakage around your shocks.
that's a few of the obvious things I can think of.....

I got home today packed my car and as i was getting out i heard loud clanks coming from the rear like a metal object was bouncing on the floor. I put some pressure to a spot next to my seat with my arm and it caused the sound to come back again. If i put slight pressure to my rear wheel with my foot i also hear a clank. I was parked very slightly uphill... Not sure what was wrong so I just came on the forum and saw this.. should I take it to the dealer?
