Can't start car help!
Here's the scenario:
After a brief drive to the gym I park, pull the key out, and the engine's still running. I try to turn it off a few times but to no avail. So I drive back home everything seems fine, no weird noises or anything to that nature. When I get home, sure enough, car turns off without a hitch. I get out and go in the house for a few hours. I come back out to see a plethora of lights on: SES, oil pressure, battery, brake light, a/c light, seatbelt light, and "door open". I try to start the car anyway. The starter turns over just fine, sounds completely normal, but the engine will not start. I reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery and the warning lights are still on and the car still won't start.
Any ideas?

I could be as simple as that though---Never been that deep in the column ,, Dont know whether the Switch is self contained or is mounted lower down on the column --activated by a rod

The starter actually doesnt click. This situation really doesnt seem like a dead battery because the car sounds completely normal when you attempt to start it, the starter is not "clicking" it is turning over, it sounds as if either spark or fuel is not being delivered.

Your body control module might be bad. Is your keyfob working? If not disconnect the battery for 2 minutes and connect it again. Put the key in the ignition and turn it to the ON position for a couple seconds and attempt to start the car while pressing on the gas. If it doesn't work the first time then keep trying. It might take 3 or 4 times for the car to start.

sorry to hijack this thread but I also have a starting problem. I currently have a nitrous system and car computer system hooked up to the battery. I was at a resturaunt a few days ago proceeded to start my car and it didnt work. the car turned over about a half a turn then died and I then found my car with no power at all. not even dome light power so i had it towed home and found that the 120A fuse on the positive side of the relay had been broken. I called the dealership and now have that whole fuse assembly on order 50 dollars !!! for it. Anyways today I tried hooking up 2 40 amp fuses in parallel today to it and got my accessories to work While my nitrous and car computer feeds were Disconnected from the car completley. Everything was working fine, I first started off with just the just the key in the ignition, then i turned the radio on, then the a/c blower, then the headlights. I then tried to start the car assuming the fuses I hooked up would blow, well they didn't. I heard a slight click when i turned the key (sound coming from starter I think) then nothing. now I am stuck with something wrong somewhere else that I cant figure out. once again absolutley nothing in the car is working. What makes me upset is that since I have the electronics in my car they will say its my fault when I dont think it is since I tried the same thing again with no electronics hooked up.
