Default Just hit a Curb !!

Ok I just hit a pretty big curb and was wondering worst case scenario how much the repairs would cost.

Ok so to the damage...

My rear wheel is bent to the inside from hitting the curb. The front doesnt seem bent but also both wheels have to be repaired or replaced.

Anyone ever run into such damage or have any ideas on how much it would cost before i find out at the mechanic tomorrow?

UPDATE ---

They replaced both the rear and front control arms, and theyre saying the front is fine but the rear still needs another part, some sort of knuckle... is this a normal issue, could this have gone bad ?? any imput greatly appreciated

This isnt the first time this has happened to someone on the forum. I believe it did not cost them a lot of money to repair. They bent the lower arm on the rear of the car, which can easily be removed and replaced. Dont get too worried. It shouldnt be that bad. Just more of a hassle then anything. There are also plenty of wheels for sale in the classifieds on this forum.

I just did the same think and needless to say my Volk's are history to much damage the upside is that my insurance covered the damage(most of it) and I now have a new set of Volk Gt-S .. If they could have been fixed I would have been looking at 150-250 per wheel depending on welding polishing... What rims do you have that would help and do you have pics of the damage...

yeah same thing happend to my OZ through an accident on the curb....

Repair would have been to high so I eventually just sold them R.I.P OZ

and now I'm getting Volk's SF-challenge rims hope this won't happen a second time!

pics of the damage...

Rear Wheel--

Front Wheel--

Now could there have been any serious damage done to the front other than the wheel?? The rear its looking like the lower rod has to be replaced...

Any inputs or estimates on how much this should cost without fixing the wheels are greatly appreciated.

I'm willing to bet you could find a member on this fourm to sell you there take offs for less than a repair.. There are probley so many people with stock rims that they shouldn't be much. Just post a WTB.. I'd sell you mine cheap if they didn't have drag radials on them.. Look in the southern threads( no snow tires;-)

Got mine looked at today for the same reason. Some guy ran a stop sign so i took the curb (at 13mph) instead of having him t-bone me. my control arm is bent and so is my wheel, but i haven't been able to tell. There is a slight scar on the about 2 inches long on the very edge of teh rim but besides that you can't tell. The ride is the same. The dealer told me 987 to replace the wheel. The control arm is 280 or so. I will get the arm next month. My car even looks like yours.

we have seen with any moderate to hard hit to the side of the wheels that it also messes up the wheel bearing. You will start to notice noise after everything is fixed and the only solution is to replace them.

Are those OEM tires you are driving with in the snow? Please say you are not driving with the OEM's on in the snow?
