When you go to the dealer, go in there with confidence. I swear those dealers can smell the fear of people. That's when they try to screw you over.

Don't they refund it if the problem is legit and covered by warranty?

You should read the terms of your warranty (came in a booklet that looks like owner's manual)

Hey nMugen, if you've got trans warranty until 60k, and you're at 30k and you're having problems, as one of the other posters say, it should all be covered by you're warranty. Would be far worse if something is wrong and you don't get it fixed asap.

Almost forgot, is your A/T light coming on or staying on???

Any news man?
As others have stated, it should be covered under warranty. You should not have to pay for a dam thing.

Hope everything worked out in your favor.

Cheers,

Bah, dont worry. Thats what warranty is for.

Did you take it to the dealer? Make sure you ask them to check the engine as well.
If you dont feel comfortable going by yourself then bring someone along who is somewhat older and more experienced when dealing with the vultures..

Dont take this "you have to pay for inspection" crap, if its the power train then it should be totally covered. They also cannot perform any work without your "ok" or authorization.

As another member mentioned go in there with confidence, and explain the problem as clearly as possible. If they for some odd reason blame the failure on you, then I would kindly ask them to provide you with all their physical and documented proof.
Bright side is that you will probably get a new tranny!

Unless they can obviously show that it was your fault the transmission is fubar they should not be charging you any money. If the car is still under warranty they can't charge you an "inspection" fee. If they look it over and find out you messed it up that's one thing. but for you to take it in there and they charge $90 right away, something is fishy about that.
I would argue with them about that until they waive it. Or inform them that you will call Nissan NA and let them know that the dealer is charging for something that should be under warranty.

Good stuff,
If they said it will be covered then I would not worry about it. Dont mention it unless they bring it up.

Hope you get it all fixed up.

You are not paying attention to forum members. Drive train warranty is 60 months/60,000 miles. I have never heard of a fee to check the transmission

I would just tell them what happen, you then pulled over and then had it towed to their dealership. Tell them to check into it. The should know by the vin that it is under warranty. What I've had dealers do in the past is basically tell me their will be a $$ charge for tear down just in case it is not a warranty problem. I've never had to pay this up front, and it goes away once it is officially determined to be under warranty.

Also, document the condition of your car with the guy that checks it in, get a copy as well. Tell them to call you when they have more info and that the car should NOT leave the premises without you permission!

I suggest you check out the warranty for your car, here is the link:
http://www.nissanusa.com/owning/warr...nloadable.html

The 5AT tranny going to crap @ 30k is more than likely going to be covered under warranty, don't worry. If it is warranty you should not be charged a dime by the dealershyt! Read the warranty and bring someone with stealership knowledge if you can. Don't let them push you around, be firm as mentioned.

Just flat out tell them no, you arent paying any $90 inspection fee. They will fix the transmission issue because the transmission falls under the 60k powertrain warranty. Just be assertive and confident and do not waiver. The $90 inspection fee is total BS.
