Default Wont accelerate right

When ever I try to take off ill get into third gear and when I hit about 4500-5000 rpm the engine loses all get up and then acts like it wants to take off. It also tacs out too when it dose it. I got a check engine light and it said that it was a crank shaft sensor. Im putting one in tomorrow. Any other ideas why it would be doing this. Any help would be appreciated

the only thig i have in the car is a light weight fly wheel exhaust with high flow cats and a cold air intake.

If you have a SES light and it is doing that and telling you you have a crank sensor code... that is one of the things the crank sensor does when it has failed...

fix that, and it should go away...
