Default Oil pressure problem

Ok well this may be just due to my noobish-ness but i live in FL and for the past 3 days it has been unusually cold ( in the 40s and 50s!!! OH NOES!! ) but i noticed that my oil pressure gauge is like all teh way to the right. PAST 120psi its just way over there. I changed my oil about 2500 miles ago w/ royal purple 10w30. Im wondering if anyone knows why this may be. Im hoping its just a busted gauge but i have no idea. The first day it started to get cold here i remember noticeing my pressure was around 90ish as i drove home late at night then i turned the car off and went to sleep so no more driving but then the next morning it was at/past the 120psi mark and has stayed there. It doesnt move for no one, but when i turn the car off it goes down.

Just like to say sorry if this was really hard to read cause im not exactly sure how to even explain whats going on. Im kinda just trying to say everything i know and let you pro's try to figure it out. SOOOO with that said, THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR ANY HELP YOU MAYBE GIVE

-Daniel

Replace ur Oil sending unit---40s isnt that cold and either way,it should drop within 5 minutes. OSU is 60.00 and is located next to the Oil filter. Very much TIY job ----Old screws out, new screws in ---It has a wire going to it. Dab a little Permatex Teflon Sealent on the threads

Is that covered under warrenty tho or no? Cause if its under warrenty then ill just take it in. And also, if that is the problem, is it an ergent like pressing issue or is it something minor.

I have no idea, but having ur gage working in a non FI engine is good to chk on how low ur press is rather than how high. With FI, both are important.

Point is ---Its not life threatening but just good mechanical maintenence.

i changed mine a couple of weeks ago for the same exact problem. You'll need a 24mm openend wrench to remove the old unit.

Think. We don't know if you bought a used car, a new car, or how many miles you have on it. We should be asking you if it's under warrenty.
