I'm trying to go to work right now and I started my car and it's acting all crazy and shaking. The battery is new too and I know it's not that. I'm certain it's not the alternator because the car will start but when I step on the gas it seems as if it's trying to rev up but won't even do it. What could this be? Spark plugs? etc? I need some technical help guys. Very much appreciated.

 

Did you just replace the battery and this is the first time starting it? Computer may need learning maybe...

Or have you run the car since the new battery was put in and all of a sudden this happens? I suspect something wasn't tighten down, check your battery terminals.

 

I replaced the battery about 2 months ago. It's been fine since then. Is it possible I have bad gas in the car maybe??

it may just b rough day 4 the car. i started up my car, and it ran like ****. loud motor, vibrations, i freaked out and parked it 4 the day. next day it was fine. sometimes cars just have there bad days...like a couple girls i kno

Can you describe it a bit more. I've had similar problem with my car on and off. The code I get from it is p0300 (random cylinder misfire), there are multiple causes for this so if you can describe anything you did to you car past few month will give us better idea on what going on.

Alright here is the details. The only thing I have on my car is an arc intake. I installed this myself not more than a week and a half ago and everything is fine. sealed and tight. Yesterday morning I filled up my tank with shell 91 octane and now when I try to go to work I can start the car just fine but when I try to rev the motor the muffler makes a strange noise and the car is shaking horribly. I can press on the gas and my car won't go anywhere it's as if it's still thinks it's in neutral. Also after I turned the car off I smelled a strange nasty smell. and I saw a tiny bit of smoke coming from under the hood. Maybe it's the smell of oil burning. I have no idea. It could be the spark plugs, or fuel injectors, bad gas. I dunno. What do you think? Thanks for all the help so far.

 

while installing the intake did you disconnect the harness at the TB? Not that there is a reason to.

 

are you talking about the intake maf sensor? if so yes. after I installed it I plugged it back up before I started the car though. and it ran fine. befor I had the arc I had a jwt pop charger and everything was fine too.

What you describe sounds like multiple cylinder misfire, I would take it for diagnostic for your fuel and electric system(maybe bad coil/spark plug wires or dirty fuel injector).

Good luck, let us know what they tell you. I have yet to figure out mine(after more than 1500 spent in diagnostics and repairs...). Will be taking mine to West Covina Nissan this weekend for 30k service and hopefully they can give me some idea on whats going on.

 

hmmm could be the plugs but yea that is odd

cars do though have strange days, the supra was moody at times and always needed to be warmed up

gluck on it budd if u were local we could check it out

 

check MAF sensor...or check intake piping...

i had same problem when i had rx7...

 

its ur throttle module (little square box between ur intake and intake manifold) under the hood they go bad on Z ur looking at about $200 to fix it

 

may want to check the ipdm

 

i took it to nissan today. my injectors coils and one spark plug is blown! but it's all covered under the extended warranty so there givin me a rental car monday and all i pay out of pocket is a $50 deductable. =)
