Default service engine soon?

My 350Z service engine light has come on. Does anyone know what the problem might be?

tighten gas cap.

if not, probably some sort of sensor (O2, MAF, etc.)

Yeah, I've heard about the gas cap issue.

I pulled my VCS fuse on the dyno, and had that. Try pulling your negative battery terminal and let it sit off the battery for 10 min.

Then hook it back up and drive around, the light should go off.

Its an issue with the ECM. If the light is steady.

Belive it or not I had this problem pop up for the 3 rd time already. I am at 1350 miles. I am getting pretty pissed. Trying to spend 4 hrs at the service statino everytime is no fun.

if its on steady, that means its gas cap, if it were blinking, then itd be a real problem.

come on, you look like vin deisel there, I know you can give that cap an extra click. itll take a few days for the car to figure it out, but itll go away.

yunno, i just had the same thing happen to me today. i've been shitting bricks since. after all, she is my fair lady. anyway, down to the point. i filled her up w/ gas 6 days ago, and drove her home(not sure if the gas cap was screwed on tightly... 1 possible cause). then, i used her today to pick up my sister (the car sat in the garage since last thursday.. i have a daily driver car). i drove her spiritedly on the way home for about 2 mins (don't know if it's relevant), and then normally after that. got home, and turned her off. then i went to run another errand, and then after driving about 4 blocks, the service engine soon light shows up. it doesn't blink, but stays on constantly. after analyzing the car, i notice that my exhaust sounds like it's making backfiring sounds, but it's been sounding like that for a while. anyone know what's going on w/ my car?

Take it to autozone and let them pull the codes, they do it for free and it's a hell of a lot quicker than getting the dealer to take a look.

Ive got the same problem. The service engine soon light came on at approximatley 6000 km. I have tightened my gas cap twice, filled the car up with gas once, and am now at approximately 6600 km with the service engine soon light still shininig bright. I dont feel or hear anything different when driving the car but i think its time to take it to the dealership to fix the problem.
