Default Rebuilt title, warranty issues, only 1 month Out of warranty. What to do?

I registered my z back in 01/07 and the title i received came "rebuilt". Just my luck. To make a long story short, i contacted all the previous DMV's and my states DMV and finally they found that they issued me a rebuilt one in error and they asked me to mail it back. After 3 months of having a rebuilt one, they issued me a clean title.

I went over to Kelly Nissan in Beverly, MA to get some warranty work done ie. trunk shocks, pass side window motor, headlight fogging, cd player errors.

They gave me unbelievably ridiculous repair quotes ($400 trunk shocks and $400 to have cd player sent out for 4-6 weeks for repair) LOL, what a joke. Anyway, they said my warranty expired 1 month ago. This made me furious as i did not take it to the dealer because i was waiting on the clean title.

Anyway, i called Nissan corp, got a file #, and they asked me to fax a copy of the clean title so they can verify it and they should be able to adjust my warranty for the time that i had a rebuilt title.

After a week of not hearing from them, i called them up and they said it will take about 2 weeks for them to process it and they will have a specialist call me. At this point, my right headlight is not working, my pass side window is down and will not go up, therefore i dont drive my car in the rain or at night and they are making me wait for something that is not even my fault.

I am just about ready to just buy a new window motor on ebay, and new trunk shocks and cd player and open up my headlights, black them out, and reseal them myself.

What are your opinions? Should i wait for Nissan or should i just screw it and do it myself? Who knows what they will say and when they will get back to me.

I also told them that my tranny was grinding in 5th. They said they did not find any problem with it after test driving it on the highway. Thats wierd...everytime i shift to 5th it grinds...wonder why it didnt do it for them? Perhaps because my powertrain is still under warranty?

Maybe i should go to another nissan dealership?

Sound to me like Nissan is going "above and beyond". 1) It is NOT Nissan's fault (or the dealerships) that DMV made an error. 2) And Nissan has no obligation to extend your warranty, they are obviously doing it as a customer service.

And it won't matter what dealership yu take it to, its still out of warranty.

Since Nissan doesn't warranty a salvaged-titled car, you're probably waisting your time going to another one before they get the computer updated with your new title info.

man, that is going to seriously lower your resale value. you need to get that fixed asap. I would also contact carfax (after the DMV changes are made) to make sure they correct your records as well.
