Default Is 10w-40 oil okay?!

I just got an oil change today, and they used 10w40 oil in my car. I realized that after they put it in. They told me that it is a little thick, but it is fine. Will this cause me to lose power or anything?

In owner's manual, it says u can use 5W-30, 10W-30 and 10W-40. However, it prefers 5W-30

As long as you're not in sub-zero temperatures, then the 10W-40 will be fine.
