abnormal noise on my wife's car
I know this is a shot in the dark, but she has a 98 sebring and in the past month or so it has started to make a rumbling/rubbing noise that you can feel through the floor panels. The wheel also shakes. It is hard to tell what side it is coming from. I thought it was the passenger side, and thought it might be the bearing so i replaced that, but the car was the same. Here is the weird thing, when the wheel is turned about 10degrees to the right, the noise and rubbing stops completely. When replacing the bearing i noticed teh lower ball joint could probably be replaced, but it wasnt completely shot. Any one have any ideas or a similar situation?

Jack up the car and pull on the driver side wheel and see if its lose, could be drive side bearing. Had same problems on my 98 cavalier, when i turned the wheel slightly to one side it would go away but straight it rumbled. Heh I went thru 3 pairs on that car, I messed something up when i hit a curb in the snow, sitting in a junkyard now

Yea, it should feel like the wheel is loose, as if the lugs arent tightened. Im sure you can google it and find a site. But i took mine back to where i had mine done and they were shot again because something was wrong with my car and some idiot at the shop tried tightening my wheel again heh, meanwhile i was like 17 and knew he wasnt doing anything.
