Default Couple '03 Z questions

Hey guys, I have a couple questions I want to ask. I just bought a car jack and I'm not sure about where to place the jack. My friend said I need to worry about twisting the frame if I was to try and jack it up along the side frame. He suggested only jacking it up under the suspension points. so there isnt any flex on the frame.

Second question, I'm smelling some burnt oil if I happen to feather the clutch a tad long like pulling out of a parking space to a quick acceleration or like situations. I've opened the clutch oil res and smelt the oil and it seems clean and smells fine. Could the smell be my differential oil? I bought the car with 40K on it and have put 10 on it without changing the diff. oil. How often do I really need to change the clutch and diff oil?

Last question, promise, I'm hearing a whistling/whinning when I'm at cruising speed (45-80+) and the engine is not pulling or under load. As soon as I accelerate or the engine is under a load (climbing a hill) the sound goes away. Is seems to be coming from the firewall area.

All these questions have been bulding and I'm trying to turn my rotors right now and need some advice before I f my car up. Thanks!

there are notches just underneath the rocker panel marked for a jack.

the smell is probably from something else if your tranny or differential is not leaking oil.

i have no idea about the whistling behind the firewall.

Nothing is leaking. The smell is something that comes only if I dont fully engage the clutch to back up quickly like backing in and out of parking spaces. It just smells like a straight burnt clutch but the oil itself smell fine. Idk

Welcome. Jack points are in your owners manual.

Not certain what the clutch has to do with burning oil.

Thanks!
If you need to change them, according to maintenance guide it's every 30k miles.

Jack the car up at the factory jack points. You're friend is full of $hit, you won't twist the frame. I've attached some pics of where I like to lift the car. I lift the rear from the differential and place stands under the rear suspension. I lift the front from the beams where the black stands are. There's enough room on the beam to place a jack, lift the car, then put a stand next to it.

Quit riding the clutch and the smell will stop

I have no idea where this is coming from.
