GRINDING on 3rd gear!

this is a really wierd problem. for some reason the tranny will only grind third in the morning right when i start up the car which is why i will skip to 4th.... i dont want to have to go to the dealer cuz it would be a big waste of time and gas to drive all the way down there only for it to go away. does anyone know if you or the technician has to reproduce the grinding sound?

It'll get worse. make it grind more. Get yourself a new one. I got a new one, and I never heard another grind.

Seriously though, your best bet is to leave the car there overnight, go there in the morning, and drive the car yourself and make it grind.
