I am happy owner of a 2003 Z, car has 23,000 miles, this morning i added a fuel injector cleaner to the gas tank, and after 10 minutes of driving, the Check Engine Soon light came on, the car also shakes for about 10 seconds when you come to a stop...any ideas...

 

Take it to a Nissan tech and don't add that crap to your tank again. Premium gas is good enough.

 

Yes, i've should have sticked with premium gas...
I wonder if i cause any real damage....

 

My car is doing the same thing, I added some, then my girl added some the next fill up =( now it shakes for a few seconds on start up and at red lights

 

I would tough it out untill the next fill up, and DO NOT USE that **** in there anymore. You might have done damage to your cats. Fuel additives are known to clog the filters in them, therefore causing a sputter/shake that you might be experiencing.

bottom line is that **** doesn't do anything to a car under 10 years old. octane booster is junk and does obsolutley nothing performance wise except burn your gas up quicker. Take a hint from the shakes and discontinue use of the ricer mix.

 

Thanks for the hint, it was kind of a stupid move on my part. I will stick with premium gas...i just hope i did no do heavy damage...
