I need to know if it's the speedometer sensor or the gauge cluster. Does any one know where the sensor is at and maybe what would cause this to happen?

Take it to West Covina Nissan if it's still under warranty.

Is the odometer working? If not then leave it alone .

To answer you question you could probably find your answer by looking in a service manual.

i would love to leave it alone, but i dont' know how fast I am driving. I don't have warranty on the car since I bought it used. I do not own the cervice manual. All I want to know is where is the sensor located so I can see if there is anything wrong. If it's ok then I'll look at the gauge cluster.

Ah but does the digital pull the reading off of the same speed sensor?

I would leave it alone for awhile and just cruise with the speed of traffic

who knows? maybe its not the speed sensor but more like just the gauge broken or something.

Yeah ever since I switched to the FX35 the digital speedo of the Z is the feature I miss the most. I miss it so bad I'm even debating getting one of those digital HUDs installed. I just dont do analog anymore

do you have lights in your speedo? does the middle gauge cluster work? if those are both no's... and I know this might sound STOOOOPID..... check to see if your electric mirrors work... I had a similar issue and my electric mirror fuse was blown... radio wouldn't work either

lights work, every electrical part works. that's what leads me to believe that the sensor is bad, but i don't know where it is located at or if it has more than one

most sensors are located right on the tranny since that's where it pulls the reading off of.
