"Service Engine Soon" @ 3600 miles?!?!
Lil background, my car hit 3600 miles this weekend.
I went and got my first oil change at 3300 miles about a week-week and a half before.
I made sure to drive the car light through the break-in period and I do not drive the car hard at all.
I go out on Saturday to start my car and I realize my "Service Engine Soon" light is on, WHAT THE ****!!!!
The Service Department at the Nissan dealership where I bought my car isn't open on the weekends, so I sent an email request and left a voicemail on Sunday to call me back ASAP.
Monday rolls around, the only call I get is from a rep asking me what kind of car I'm looking to buy!!!
I call back later on Monday to schedule an appointment and the receptionist tells me that "service is too busy right now and will prolly get back to you tomorrow".
So, yesterday afternoon, someone finally calls me back... I can tell that the guy really doesn't want me to bring my car in.
He tells me that its probably an emissions problem and all I need to do is take off my gas cap, dry it off, and make sure that when I seal it again, make sure I hear 2-3 clicks...
And in 2-3 days, I shouldn't see the light on anymore...
I still made him schedule an appointment for Monday, but does his explaination and idea make any sense whatsoever????
Sorry for the long post, I had to vent, but suggestions and comments are appreciated!!!!

I wasn't aware that it even could go to 7 clicks, haha
3 or 4 always seemed tight enough.
How do I have someone "pull a code" and what code are they pulling and from where?
Dumb question, but how do I go abouts "resetting the ECU"
Thanks for the help everybody!!!

I think I will try that when I go to work tomorrow and if it doesn't work for some reason, I"ll go to AutoZone at lunch...
I truly appreciate all of the input everyone.
Thank you!!!
