Default Service Engine Soon Light - Steady ON!

Two things that I'm concerned about and need more understanding on:

- I hit 131mph this long trip to NY on Friday. YEAH!!

- On 19K+ miles, and I'm due a 20,000 check up. Wondering if it has anything to do with that.

I researched a little, stupid dealership guy has no f'ckng clue... its emissions based, but does any body have an idea on whether or not to take it in to the dealership? Can any of the above issues be the reason? I tightened the gas cap to make sure that wasn't the issue.. but, its been on since this Monday.

Need help before I give in and take it to the dealership.

Thanks All.

The CEL comes on when the car's computer throws a code saying something isn't working properly. The code will help you (and us) figure out what the deal is. You can get the code read and cleared if you want at most chain autoparts stores like Discount, Autozone, etc. If you take it there you won't have to take it to the dealer.

Grats on getting your car to go fast. Hope your brought your flame suit, because everyone here goes the speed limit (AND NOT A MILE OVER BECAUSE THAT IS RECKLESS AND IT MAKES BABY JESUS CRY).

Good luck!

Did you replace a piece of your exhaust system....maybe a cat-back exhaust..or hi-flow cats. If you did, I bet you have an exhaust leak.

Default Thanks

No, I didn't change the exhaust. But, I'll take it to autozone, there's one near my place. Its so bothering me that the light's been on....but, the rush I got from hitting 131, was super FANTASTIC!!

Guys, I'll check on the code & post it so you can possibly help me.

Thanks.

So, someone recently gave me a nick name... "Indian Fast Bit@h...I think I'm going to stick to that....ha!ha!
