Hello, everyone. Last night i rolled down my drivers side window and was unable to roll it back up. it was like it just died. I searched these and many other forums extensively and found a bunch of things. I took my door panel off and took off my window motor and cleaned out the grooves on the spindle and the brushes. I put everything back and tried to reset the window motor using that black button in the door panel. The motor didnt even crank. I can hear the switch making a clicking noise. My window is stuck in the down position and was wondering if there was a way to put it up without the motor working? does anyone know of anything else it could be? my car is an 04 and unfortunately my warranty ended in july. any suggestions are appreciated. thanks

 

I just got the exact same problem in my car, 03 Touring.

The driver side window just stopped working, no delay or sluggish movement up to it, it just died. And the passenger works fine. I can hear the switch click but nothing. And for like the first two days when I noticed, it actually did work intermittently. So glad I got it up one last time since it seems to not respond at all.

I figure the switch itself might be dead, I should call my dealer and see if I can get the part. Did you look at the switch when you had the door open? Curious if you looked at it, or saw any cracks or anything. I roll my windows down a lot, but I just tap it and let them go all the way down.

u can reset it, try and search for that, see if you come up with anything.

DUDES. I'm new to this site and I already know of the fix to this common as problem on the Z. THE FIX = With door open and key in on position. With left finger, pull up on the switch or down if stuck up like a rich *****. With right hand, grap your ***** or grotch if you're missing them and say "*****.....better have my money" and slam the door shut like you're a baller confronting your Hoes on the corner to get their *** out there and work that ***

That bioutch will roll up and a heart beat. If not, bit ch slap her again with a differnt approuch. AWWWWWW.....IIIIIYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!

Today I keep trying to slam on the door + pull up the switch. But it doesnt work, I tried 30minutes on it while Im driving..
and after I reached the parking lot.. I tried to open the door and pull the switch, no response.
I then open the door, pull the switch and close the door, and the window finally goes up

 

dang lol it happened to me but my passenger... i took the panels apart and check what was wrong with it... i think its the relay.... but i ordered the motor for it... and we will see what happens

 

This happened to me once then I noticed that the drivers side controls have a passengers side window lock option just push it to disengage it and your problem will be solved. I felt so dumb when I realized that was the problem

 

If not I have both motor regs for 100 bucks shipped each side
