Default Not fixing axle click... dangerous?

I was talking to a buddy of mine and he was telling me if you don't fix the axle click problem your axle might fall off (or something of that nature)?! I searched but nothing came up. Should I take it to get fixed or just F*k it? I would rather not take it to the dealer because I'm wary about other ppl touching my car. Thanks.

It's true. Also, if you don't replace failing window motors your doors will fall off.

You better get that axle fixed.

Yea, if you want to read through 100 + pages with the word "axle" in it be my guest. Just seeing if anyone has a straight answer, apparently no one does and some people are wondering the same thing.

Then I guess you aren't bothered-enough to get it fixed for free.

I read that you can DIY, and I think it's just a few bolts and a re-grease. If it's on the cheap I'd rather do-it-myself.

I'm out of warranty. Will Nissan still fix this for free? Car has 30K on it and just started clicking. Annoying to say the least.

There is a TSB on it. It will be fixed for free. Take a printout of the TSB with you just in case.

I had the understanding that tsb's were just service bulletins, not recalls.

Also, isn't any Z with 30k miles covered by powertrain, or did you have engine mods that voided the warranty?

TSB's only get fixed if call is still under warranty. Only recalls get fixed once call is out of warranty.

+1. I'm going to do it myself also, but as of now it doesn't bother me enough to warrant the work...

I have a 04 with 63k miles and the only click I hear is when I hit the brake for the first time after the car has been sitting for a few hours completely cooled down. I always thought its was the brake shims either in the front pass. or rear. My rear axle squeeks like a porno star bed but its only when you lean on her from behind. Any hot *** girl will squeek if you lean on her the right way from behind
