Default Pot hole = Bent Tie rod? help.

SH*T!

I was taking a turn through an office park (is that what you call it?) at about 40mph and hit a pot hole. When i got out i saw that i had a bubble in my front pass. tire. When i drove back home, I noticed that when I turn to the right, i'm not sure if i should describe it as rubbing or grinding, but it just makes like a "loud a$$ tire on the highway noise", but only when i turn right. and its gets progressively louder the faster i go, and with more steering angle, up to about when the steering wheel is 90 degrees, then it stops.

I've replaced the tire, and called nissan about it. They say that it's most likely that i've bent a tie-rod, b/c it's the weakest bit of the suspension. I'm going to take it to an alignment shop soon, but what would you guys diagnose this as?

also if it is the tie-rods, what's the consensus for Tien? it's $200+ for the weak nissan outer end(single), but its $85 for both outer from tien, and they look hella beefier.

When you strengthen some oem part expect the next weakest to then fail in future situations...................all about having something inexpensive to absorb and deform from typical stresses.

Jack up each front wheel and compare them visually. it is possible you bent the tie rod but it may be minor enough to simply adjust the toe in spec and not have to replace it. Your tire took majority of the impact. So bottom line take it to get aligned and ask them to inspect tie rods for damage.

definitely possible you're just out of alignment, and nothing broken... definitely do as Al s14 says

i had a similar incident not long ago, but in my case i lost control of the car, i tried getting control of the car but i think i did some drifting and then a 180 degree turn, i was so lucky that nothing happend to the body of the car, it was raining and snowing at the same time. i have to replace the both rod radius and one rear wheel, but i want to know is there any aftermarket replacement ? because these rods seem to be very week, i will post some picture soon and the place the my car ended up, i'm still amazed that i was so lucky that day.

Yeah. That looks a little "out of spec".

your Right camber arm is done. there is no fixing it . but iam bit confused as before you said you hit it in the front .. but damaged pics are of the back

btw there is NO way you did that by hitting a pot hole. looks more liek you slid in to something sideways

Tougeznut was the one that hit a pothole, i was just saying that i had a similar problem but instead of hitting a puthole, i did a few drifftings and a 180 degree turn it was raining hard that night, below are the pictures where my car ended up.

Nothing beats drifting on a residential street straight into a tree.

I recently slid into a curb while drifting and did the same thing to my Z. Stillen sells aftermarket camber arms for about $475 (that buys both left and right). I was able to replace them myself without much trouble. After installing make sure and take your Z to an alignment shop.

Now, I have a question regarding my incident. My Z now makes a buzzing/humming noise around 30 mph that gets more intense the faster I go. Is that a CV joint? I checked tire pressure and alignment is spot on, the camber is a hair more negative than stock. What could it be?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Sounds like a bearing problem. It doesn't take much impact to damage the wheel bearings.
