i was finally able to resolve this issue. all i had to do was clean the throttle body. i guess when my battery was changed, the ecu reset and it couldn't "learn" to work with a filthy tb. i used the stp throttle body cleaner from autozone. anyway, i just wanted to post an update in case someone comes across the same problem.

i guess i was supposed to keep the computer alive somehow before disconnecting a battery completely.
i am just used to my old camry which didn't have issues like this.. disconnect the battery, put new one in, connect it all back, and that was it.

anyways, back to the point,

the mechanic says that there is nothing he can do for now, and it will all come back to normal after few days of driving.

and i think it is really getting better. now i can drive without engine dying on me.

starting the car takes a little bit of gas.

so... don't make the same mistake guys... this is a major PITA.

thanks for all your help!
Sorry but that can't be correct, the ECU should relearn all systems after driving 5 miles. No way it should take a week, something else must be wrong with the car affecting the relearn procedure.

This is similar to the problem that I'm having right now. The car starts up fine but if I turn off the engine and try to start it bac up it doesn't. It clicks but no spark to start up. I have to jump the battery everytime. I'm taking it to a mechanic to check the battery and the alternator tomorrow.

i think yours might be more of a battery/alternator issue because of the clicking. hope you figure it out.

I had it checked and it turns out that it is the battery not the alternator. I'm looking into this a bit more before actually deciding but I'm leaning towards the Braille B3121. I guess I can use the old J Hooks to mount this abattery??
