Exclamation !!! Dead Fire Issue Dealership WONT HELP !!!

Hello there all my name is Hal and I have a 03 305Z Touring 6spd with 38k miles..

I have what appears to be a dead fire in one cylinder when I am sitting at idle (which is around 600RPM which I think is a little low and should be closer to 1000RPM but dealer tells me is OEM) I get a clunk that can be felt threw the shifter and a pop that can be heard threw the exhaust system which is OEM for now. I am thinking its a dead fire because I have had one before and it made similar noises... but that was said to be fixed at Torrance Nissan... I think they are full of **** because it keeps comming back. I think there is something seriouly wrong and that there may be an issue there... Not being long into the 350Z (having owned it less than 6months) I value any info I can get...

Please Help !!

If you had a misfire, you would get a check engine light.

It might just be a rough idle. Some dealers are able to raise your idle speed.

Other thoughts, try cleaning the MAF sensor using CRC MAF Cleaner spray, also remove the intake tube and check out the throttle body, see if it needs cleaning as well.

After all this is done, reset the ECU by disconnecting the negative battery terminal, pumping the brakes, and reconnecting.

i have an 03 base with 53k miles, and i know exactly what your talking about. I'm beginning to think that it is the altenator producing the rough idle issues. Without the A/C on the idle can jump around quite a bit. Back when i first got my car, honestly before i had any familarity with the Z, i thought the intake add on did it to me. With all that bs being said, i dont think it is a misfire, rough idles are common with the Z. I would check your belts, maybe test the altenator for ampage irregularities. I upgraded to a dry cell optima red top and it helped some. Hasn't affected anything so far and seems pretty minor.. good luck with things though.
