Completely normal bro, don't sweat it. It sounds like the tranny is falling apart but that's just how it is on this car.

You should let the car warm up at least 5 minutes or so before driving it anyway. It would probably help that problem as well.

If it makes you feel better, I had two Mitsus that did the same thing. Now, with my 07' Z I experienced the same thing as well. Some manual gearing during cold weather and start ups will always be rough shifting 1-3rd gear. I had even put synchromesh in my mitsu trannies and that didn't completely help.

As Cheshirecat79 was explaining, rev matching is a good habit to get into when driving a manual transmission and also feathering the shifter into gear for a smoother engagement. Thus, reducing clutch slippage and wear-n-tear on your clutch assembly.
