I start w/o TCS all the time from garage because goes crazy with the lsd...
it's not the TCS.

I'm another 07 owner w/ the sputtering issue during a cold engine warmup.

It won't do it in the morning which is odd, but in the afternoon when it's significantly hotter out and I'm leaving work it'll sputter around 2500-3500 in 2nd / 3rd gear driving at relatively low speeds. It won't do it at higher speeds....

I'm learning just to live with it... hopefully there's some break through soon with something simple as an ECU update.

from what your saying it doesnt sound like you have the same problem the rest of us have. What you describe sounds to me like a bad 02 sensor in intake/exhaust system.

When the problem happens, does your car sound different? Does your exhaust get really throaty and raspy?

Everything on my Z is 100% bone stock, so the exhaust isn't that loud. I don't notice a difference in exhaust tone....

Just the car wants to hit some imaginary rev limiter (but harder, with jerking) around that low RPM range. When the car gets a bit warmer everything is hunky dory.

ok then your problem definately isn't the same that the majority of us are having. Even with stock exhaust you can hear the entire exhaust sound change.

and the way you describe your problem definately sounds like an 02 sensor limitation where it feels like the car is calling it quits so to speak. The problem that we have feels more like there are sudden bursts of excess fuel where the car will lurch forward with every jolt.... Quite annoying. lol

anyhow, like i said. Try having your dealer check all your 02 sensors if they can replicate the problem.

do you guys jump on the gas right away? I do not have any sputtering but I shift at 2krpms and accelerate slowly.. only thing I notice is my exhaust makes a loping sound when its cold and i'm accelerating but it never stutters.. i feel bad for you guys. Hope you guys get this resolved..

It rarely if ever does it in the morning for me. I drive 30 min to work and then when I start it up at the end of the day to go home it hesitates and sputters for around 15 seconds then the exhaust sound and responsiveness goes back to normal. It however doesn't sputter on start up, but after running for a couple of minutes. It does it more so in second when I hit the gas, let off and then slowly get back on it. I am taking it to the Nissan dealer tomorrow morning so at least it is on record that I am having this problem. I am not expecting them to find anything wrong with it, and would be surprised if they did.

I have'nt had this problem yet. I have 4100miles so far. But this concerns me. Maybe it's not all HR's I hope? I hope Nissan has a fix for this problem soon for you guys. Could it be that its happening with earlier production models? My production date was 06/07. Could this make any differance?

I don't believe it's happening to all HR's, and i'm under the impression it doesn't happen to automatic tranny's...

Mine did the same thing once.

Hasn't since. The car had warmed up for about 3 minutes, barely accelerated, and it jerked at about 2K rpms, twice. The tank was low, so I thought it was the gas level, but it wasn't. I had about 3 gallons left. Probably a sensor issue, when it hasn't warmed up all the way. No SES light though.

I took mine in last week and as expected they said there was nothing wrong with it as they couldn't replicate the problem.
However they did add an "option" to my car while I waited, and it was free of charge. Problem is that option was a crap load of swirl-marks in my paint, or the Dealer Installed Swirl-mark Option. I really wished they would have asked me before washing my swirl-free MB Z. It took me a day of polishing and more polishing to fix what they screwed up with a big nylon brush in 5 minutes, lol.

I know it is frustrating but the EvoX has its own share of issues too. Is making a lemon law claim an option?

I have 24k on my Z already, and I know that my warranty is going to be up soon. If all else fails do you think a stand alone EMS solve the issue we are having? I know that might be extreme but it is just a thought.

i dont believe it is an ECU problem. Profink has the techno square reflash and still has his problems.

This is so strange, I mean it just seems like there is a ghost in the machine.
