Brake Pads
Hi,
I just sent my car for my 40,000 km servicing today and was quoted $160 to change my OEM brake pads (both front & rear). The last time I had it changed was when I did my 32,000 km servicing. BTW I only use my car for my daily ride to work and back. I don't tracked or raced. There are a couple of questions I need you to help me answer;
1) Is it normal for these OEM brake pads to last 8000 km under normal driving conditions?
2) Is it better for me to up-grade to more expensive and hopefully longer lasting brake pads?
3) Should I change my rotors as well? Like a Brembo or AP?
I am thankful for any advice I can get.

the oem front pads should last 18k miles for normal driving in the US because of more open roads. The only thing bad about the oem pads is the dust, otherwise they are extremely good for the Z. I am running on some aftermarket canadian pads for now, less dust but not as good for initial bite.
Ive just bought some NISMO pads. both front/rear. Supposed to perform better for fast road use, good initial bite and less dust than OEMS. The dust is a real annoyance for me, and the OEMS make alot of black crud. I dont think they will last as long as OEMS, but general concenus is that OEMS last longer than average anyway.
