Default Weird sound on 2007

I have a 2007 Enthusiast. When I am coming to a stop coasting or breaking below 30mph until about 5mph there is loud road noise coming from what sounds like the front of the car. I had my mom in the car and she immediately asked what the noise was and wondered if I needed new brakes. I told her my foot wasnt on the brakes.

Does anyone have any idea what this could be from ? I have 11,000 miles on the tires. They have decent tread remaining. I do not drive it hard at all. Never break the tires loose.

Thanks

No, it sounds like its from the front. Nothing like clicking, it sounds like really loud road noise. But, it only happens at low speeds. It also does not make the sound when excellerating

a/c vent not fully closed maybe? I know when I got my 07 I kept hearing this whistling type noise at the beginning, turns out it was just a vent.

No, I dont think so. It definately sounds like its coming from the road or near the tires. Hard to explain really. One of those sounds where you almost have to be in the car to know what I am talking about.

Do you get any kind of wubba-wubba? Mine does that somewhere between 20 and 30. It's caused from cupping (some call it feathering) of the tires, which is probably caused by negative camber or low tire pressure. I thought it was my brakes also until I realized that it was also doing it when I accelerated and also didn't really feel pedal feedback. Have you had your alignment checked?

No I havent had the alignment checked. The car drives straight as an arrow. On a straight road I can let go of the wheel and go forever. There is no wheel shake or vibration. Just the sound at low speeds.

Mine drives straight also. I'm talking about the camber measurement. Mine is near the complete negative side on the driver's side.

When they do an alignment check, they should give you a printout of all of the manufacturer spec measurements and where yours are compared to those numbers. The place I go actually shows red if the measurement is out of spec and green if it's in. Mine is "in" spec, but the camber is to the negative side of that "spec".

My car does that too but only in first gear, and its load and annoying.

Mine will do it even out of gear, I think it has more to do with the low speed rather than the gear. I wish I knew what it is. In any event its under warranty if there is a problem. I also just want to know if its normal. I dont think it is though. Hopefully nothing serious.

hahaha, welcome to the world of Bridgestone Potenzas

My car does the same thing. It's the tires... there's some kind of resonation with the road that the tires make because of their tread pattern. It's really weird and annoying.

Some people say it's feathering or whatever but I've heard it in a couple of different Zs and they all had the same potenza tires.

I know the sound you're talking about, it's like a loud rumbling sound that gets louder as you get to 20mph and then starts to fade away after you accelerate through it's "sweet spot" where it's loud as hell.

Yep. Mine's an '05. If I drive through a lot of dirt, then park, yo can see huge cupping/feathering on the inside edge. Sure am glad they fixed that issue after '04?!
