Installed walbro 255 fuel pump, Filled up car. Gas flowing everywhere. Please help!!!
I just installed the walbro fuel pump. Turned on the car, no problems. Went to the gas station to fill up. Noticed that gas was poring on the ground from my car. I have no idea why.
Here are some issues to maybe consider:
1- before this fill up. I could never have the fuel gauge hit the full mark. Alway showed at the 3/4 mark. I filled it up. Shows or hits the full mark.
2-Never had any problems before with fuel leakage.
3-I got home from the gas station. Pulled in the driveway and it leaked a little, but stopped. Thought that I may have filled it up to much?
4-decided to go to the store to see if anything would happen. I saw some gas trails. Bought my stuff. Came out and more leakage. Hmmm. Drove home and I have no leakage in my garage.
I did a search and found this thread to be the closest.

Steps that I have taken so far.
1-checked underneath the car to see if I pulled anything. Could not see anything do to the cover plates.
2-Checked where you get to the fuel pump from behind the passenger side seat. Gas was on top of the tank. Both times I drove it.
Could it be the O-Ring?
Could I have filled it up to much since I never could fill it up from the beginning?
Any help would be grateful.
Thank you

Sounds like the 0-ring. Buy a new one from the dealer and make sure you don't get any fuel on it when installing, and make sure it is fit in there correctly. You're not getting a good seal at the top of the gas tank, and gas is sloshing out of the top now that the tank is full.

OK. So I started my car this morning to try and run some gas down since I have to drive it to the shop for my ses light. I kept checking on it to see if any gas has been coming out and yes it has.
Even with the car running on idle, gas is still leaking. I know that it is coming from the top because of the collection pf gas.
Still the o-ring? Or could it be something else?

ok thanks. Right after the ses light issue which should be simple to fix, I will be on my way to get it. Sometimes it suck a$$ to have almost everything closed here in Utah. Its a law that the car dealerships cant be open on sundays.
Is the fuel leak at idle due to the pressure?
The gas gauge is halfway between 3/4 and full.
