Door lock safety feature?
Ok so this morning I dropped my friend off at the Yamaha dealer and when he went to get into the car the door wouldn't open. I pressed the unlock button and I watched the lock turn to the unlock position and he still couldn't open the door - nor could I open it from the inside.
I turned the car off, locked it, then unlocked it and then he could open it.
Once we started talking about it, I think it may be because I was in gear and/or I didn't have the parking brake on.
Is this a safety feature so that maybe someone that walks up to your car they can't open it?
Thanks!

Haha it's not like I've had my license for a week here. I locked it and unlocked it many times while he was trying to open it. It didn't open until I turned my car off and locked it, then unlocked it.

Either way, good luck finding the cause. Other than what I stated earlier, I really don't have another answer...
