Default Engine smoke/rough idle after first oil change on a used Z

Specs: 2003 Enthusiast MT, 35k miles, all stock engine parts.

Story: Purchased the car recently, and just had the oil changed for the first time. Previous owner mentioned that he always had the oil changes done by his local dealership, so I assume[d] they used dino oil per Nissan's recommendation.

Trying to keep with the same, at least for now, I had the oil changed at the closest dealership in my area. They confirmed that they do use dino. But after picking my Z up, the idle was really rough after first starting it [went away after a while], and I noticed a little bit of smoke coming out of the hood when getting home.

Popped the hood and I didn't see anything unusual, no oil spilled on the engine
anywhere, but the dipstick wasn't pushed in completely. I assumed that was the culprit and fixed it. This morning, I drive to work and the same thing happens... smoke coming out of the hood, though I couldn't tell exactly where it originated, and the dipstick not all the way in. Slight smell of burning oil.

Any insight? I have no idea if they put the wrong oil weight in, bent my dipstick, or something more ominous. I'm afraid to drive it at all and will probably try draining it and throwing a synthetic blend in to see if the oil is the problem.

The last time I was at the dealership for my oil consumption test, some flunkie mechanic overfilled the oil. When the pressure would get high, oil would come up out of the dipstick and get all over the engine, which would cause smoke after driving for a bit. The idle was also a little rough after I got it back.

If you have the capacity, I would drain the oil and refill it with 5 quarts to see if they might have overfilled.

If the dipstick is not all the way in you have oil flowing out of the hole!

Reason why I never let a oil monkey even touch my cars, thanks for reminding me to keep doing what I have been doing for years.

drain the oil and do it again. Don't take it back to the same place for oil change ever again.
