Unhappy multiple random cold weather related issues...

so yea i had the z for about 4 months now and as the weather continues to get colder, more and more odd things are happening...

1. the passenger window motor never really worked great but now it won't work at all...it just clicks...

2. twice, i got out, closed the door and tried locking the car with the remote...car locked but 4ways didn't flash nor did the horn blow...

3. just now i went to eat and noticed that my 3 gauges on the dash (digital, oil, volts) didn't light up nor were they working at all...

4. once for a period of about 3 minutes, my tach was stuck at like 4k...slowed down, turned off engine, turned it back on, revved it real quick and it started working...

are these all common issues and/or cold weather related...i mean it seems like it...any help is appreciated!!!

Common 350 problem, search window motor, you'll find heaps of threads.

Does your Z still have the factory alarm or aftermarket? Help us a little.

I can't get to my owners manual right now, but the back lighting can be dulled to an almost invisible level, it could be this. Adjusted with the toggle buttons on the gauge pods. Look in your owners manual. A few years back my back lighting on those gauges was just silly light, just adjusted.

factory alarm...and the gauges don't do ANYTHING...the digital doesn't show anything and the volt/pressure gauge needles just stay at 0 with no light on any of them...

Many things on the verge of failing will fail when a cold snap comes in ---(1 .. Expansion and Contraction of electrical connectors---2) Mech Parts become brittle due to molecular confusion.

In the fall, I replace electric window gearboxes in Fords at a couple a week

Yup, what they said. Any large swing in environmental conditions may aggravate a pre-existing condition, or it could be a coincidence. In direct reply to your condition, my car does not do any of those things, whether it's 18 outside or 98.

None of the problems sound temperature related. The probability of have the same problems when it is 90 degrees is the same.

Is your Z a convertable? I have heard many times that in hot weather those with convertables have the tack needle problem. Maybe it also happens in extreme cold too.

Um if this is the case why dont you just take your car to him and have him look at it instead of asking a bunch of strangers on the damn internet that may or may not have any idea what is up with your car. ??
This makes no sense to me.

idk maybe i thought that people that actually drive the cars and may or may not have experienced these problems before could tell me whats going on rather then going to my gf's dad and begging him to help me...didn't expect people to be douche bags and tell me to go there instead of just getting general oppinions...

and the car is an 03 track...non vert as you know...and its wierd because on warmer days, some of the symptoms don't happen
