Default CEL error code

so I went to Autozone to pull the code because my 'engine service soon' light came on last weekend. it turns out they used a generic reader that has alpha-numeric code instead of the P1234 code we have for nissans (they had a reading of 2A03 or some wierd-*** code)

then i tried the DIY count-the-flash method and got P2103 (i think). just to be sure, i restarted the trial again and got the same code.

the flash is as follows:
2 blinks...... 11 blinks....... 10 blinks...... 3 blinks..... and then it recycles itself

so do you guys know if this number makes sense? P2103 (fuel relay??)

i'm puzzled. and i dont want to bring it into the dealer so they can charge me $90 for diagnostic fee.

thanks for your help.

you got an 06 coupe. Make use of your warranty!!! No such thing as a $90 diagnostic fee when you are under warranty.

If your getting 2103, thats *Throttle Actuator Control Motor Circuit High* (as opposed to Low) Do you have symptoms? Hows drivability?

Can you confirm that 2-11-10-3 is P2103? its not even on that list people posted> https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....r+Circuit+High

yep, the dealer charges $90 for diagnostic fee. that's why i did the DIY counting method. once i get the code i can bring it to the dealer and get the things fixed under warranty.

I dont use the blink method since I have OBD II diagnostic but I can say that 2103 is as I stated.

The 2-11-10-3 throws me as far as the 11 , The 2 is a 2 and the 10 is a 0 and the 3 is a 3------But the 11 I cant say is correct----The 1 should be a 1 as in 2-1-10-3

I counted many times over... the 2nd set of blinks came out to be 11, not 10 or 1... so i have no idea

I would suggest you take it to PepBoys or O'Reily or some place that has a legit OBD II ---I just dont follow the 2-11-10-3 or the 2A03

And for less than the 90.00, you can buy a decent Tester

Sorry

all depends on the dealer, some charge a fee for diagnostic under warranty some don't. i have never been charged for diagnostic by our local nissan dealer over the years though.
As for my 06Mazda3 and the 00VW jetta... they both charged left and right for diagnostic under bumper to bumper warranty. Because of the mickey mouse **** they pulled, i ended up selling those vehicles to carmax.
