Default Clock spring repair???

I have the clock spring for a touring model but need to put it into a Eth. model, will this work or will I need that specific unit? Does anyone have one for sale or know where I can get one by itself?

Thanks,

The Courtesy Parts catalog doesn't seem to show any distinction in the steering wheel, column, etc. between the different models. My guess is that it's all the same. I still can't find a part name "clock spring".

It is not a technical name, don't have any idea what Nissan came up to name that thing.

Thats somewhat of how it looks like but It has several connections and the one I have has extra ones that seem to go with the touring type steering wheels with the extra buttons....

So what the fu*k are we supposed to be looking at? I see a pic of a steering column but not a Z steering column, and all the technical jargon "clock spring" is still a mystery

What the FU*K is up with you if you have no REAL input on this subject than dont even bother to post. If you or anyone knows cars than they would know what a "clock sprong" is..... And if you read correctly you would see that my question was only that if the touring clock spring would work on the eth. model, no need to know what it has or looks just the simple fact if it would WORK... So, if YOU never knew what it was from the start than you have no business in this thread. As for the others thanks for you input and help.

NOOB, whats with the panties up in a bunch???

I was asking valid questions as was the moderator, we just want to know what the hell you are asking about? If you make up part names and use pics of other cars & then have the NOOB nerve to tell me that I should know what a "clock sprong" is

So what is the real name of the "clock Sprong"???

damn NOOBS

Chill the f**ck up, both of you.

Clock spring is a clock spring, like I've said before, I have never heard the technical name of this part. I have posted the image of some generic steering column, just to show DavesZ what the clock spring is, should I had to disable my own Z just to take the picture?

For the @OP: The clock spring in a Z does not come as a seperate part, it is a part of the steering wheel assy, so I cannot tell you what happens if you don't connect the wires.

To the @350ZTheStandard: Read this write up http://www.penguinhosting.net/~bigma...placement.html
If you come up with a technical name of the clock spring I would be glad to hear it.

Steering wheel position sensor, sometimes called a spiral cable. I bought one from the dealer cost me around 90 bucks.
