Anyone consider building some? could easily do a clutch install, etc...
could put foam on the ground and use quality knee pads, maybe even a rolling mechanics chair....
FOAM: http://www.foambymail.com/Polyethylene.html
Closed cell foam: Full Sheet 108" x 48" Polyethylene Foam 1/4" Thick $24.99
and something like this can store along side your home behind the side gate, pull it out to your drive way when u want to use it?
Discuss??

we have those at my dealership. Our ramp legs were adjustable. It could go much higher than the one in the pic. I get really scared when i have to park the 4x4s on that thing.
But It's not a bad idea what you stated. You would have to take off the front bumper if you don't want it to tear it up though. I think those only cost around 500 bucks IIRC

I would say make your own and calculate the ramp lengths or dovetail the ends so you wont touch when loading up the car. This one in particular doesnt have braces/bars connecting the two together for extra strength but i would say make some that have that. ((wait, the sec pic shows round braces spanning the two))
heck you could even build a oil catch or tool tray to span across the two!!!
It appears to be 1/8 inch, maybe 3/16 inch thick mild steel, mostly L-Angle. I know i could definately weld something like that up, could buy the steel from a local steel yard.

i wouldn't build one. I would just buy it. Last thing i want is something going wrong. Those little lines across the ramp, they are there for you to get grip and not fall back fast as if it was a smooth ramp.

ahh... i see..... i was thinking to make one only so you could build it with the right length ramps and angles so not to bottom out when driving up it...especially for low Z. a truck like the one on it obviously is no problem.
